And I Quote........

This week's scrummy challenge! Set by Maria, we want you to include a quote, saying or proverb on your projects! My quote is :-

"The history of our grandparents is remembered not with rose petals, but in the laughter and tears of their children and their children's children. It is into us that the lives of grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future." - by Charles and Ann Morse.

I've recently started to trace back my family tree - and to be honest, it can get very addictive and I've got to stop myself becoming obsessed!! (I've not got that far though!)

My layout is of my Nana and the gorgeous April Kit works beautifully with the heritage theme.

Thanks for looking. :-)

Di Hickman Sketch and DCM (and a big Oooooooh!!)

Afternoon all!!! I'm one happy bunny today! Firstly, I'm showing you a card I've done for both the Di Hickman Sketch this week and today's DCM dare, pins :-

I've used the French Twist kit from the Scrummy Stash Cafe (sold out) and doodled the stem for the flower. I think you can just make out the pin, which I've put through the ribbon. Thanks for looking. :)

Secondly.....................my new DT kit came today from the Scrummy Stash Cafe and its just stunning - I've been stroking it all afternoon!! Its the April kit and its full of papers, from the Grayson Hall collection by Collage Press and papers from My Minds Eye (all double sided and cardstock weight) and tons of coordinating embellies - I don't think my photo does it justice!!

Thanks for looking!!

Going Green!

I bought some gorgeous Rusty Pickle papers (Lucky Collection) a few weeks ago to make an album for my Nephew. They're gorgeous papers, but I've decided they're not really what I want to do for a baby album, so I'm keeping them for me! LOL!

I've used the papers on a card which I've done for both the current DCM Flower challenge and the Sparkle challenge from the My Time to Craft Challenge Blog.

I've cut the flower using my Craft Robo, doodled a few swirls (can you tell!) and used some extra fine glitter mixed with mod podge to cover the flower and the pieces of chipboard, for that little bit of sparkle! I've added a couple of close-ups to try and show the sparkle. :)

DCM, Di Hickman and ArtyGirlz

Happy Easter!!! Its a lovely sunny morning here - we did wake up to some snow, but it has gone now!! We're going for a walk later on, further into the countryside so hopefully there might still be some around up there. :)

I'm trying to get back into the swing of doing some challenges, and I've managed to do one which fits in with the current DCM, Di Hickman and Arty Girlz challenges. Its my first Arty Girlz challenge (so please be gentle!!) :-)

Here is my offending entry:-

I struggled to think of something to use for DCM's In the Game challenge, then I found my DD's Diddle memory game. The hearts are just so cute - I did ask her permission before taking one, but I've had to stick it on with blue-tac as she wants it back!! LOL.

I've doodled around the edges to fit in with the Arty Girlz challenge and it is based on Di Hickman's current sketch.

Supplies: DCWV Floral Stack paper, red Bazzill, Dovecraft Jewel brad and Diddle chipboard heart, game - Parchensuche-Spiel.

Getting All Edgy!!

Its challenge time over at the Scrummy Stash Cafe again and Maria wants to see lots of decorative edges and borders on your project!

Here is my rather messy example. I've used the Out and About No2 kit, added a splash of paint, extra ribbon (East of India), brown foam letters cut with the Cuttlebug and some painted Maya Road Chipboard.

Dont forget, you could win a £10 e-voucher for the shop and you don't need to use products from the shop to enter! :)

Thanks for looking. :)

Caardvarks - Transportation

I haven't done much over the last few days so I'd like to share a card I did a couple of weeks ago. I've just noticed that it fits with the current Caardvarks challenge - which I believe ends tonight!

Thanks for looking. :)

Cover Girls!

After a weekend of sickness bugs going around our household, I've finally got around to doing my example for this week's Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge, Cover Girls. Its set by Samm this week and originally she wanted us to base a project on the Mika album Life in Cartoon Motion, but its now opened to any album cover.

After goodness knows how long looking at different album covers, I finally did a card inspired by the Rolling Stones album Flowers. I think it also fit in nicely with the current DCM challenge which is Teen Spirit by Rachel.

This is the card using the French Twist kit (now sold out)

And this is the album cover.

Saturday Foamtastic and DCM Take a Break

Saturday has come around so quickly once again!! Over at the Scrummy Blog, we're challenged by Theresa this week to dig out the funky foam and use it!! Here is my example, I've heated a piece of white foam with my heat gun, inked up a stamp and stamped into the hot foam :-

Supplies :- Scrummy Stash Bliss Kit (MME Papers), 7 Gypsies rub-on birthday sentiments, misc ribbon and white funky foam.

My second card tonight is for the current DCM Challenge, Take a Break. I've done a quick card using some left-over papers from the kit at our Crop today. Papers are BG Obscure.

And last but certainly not least!!! I've been given another award!!! The lovely Shaz has given me the You Make My Day Award.

I've also just been tagged by the lovely Lydia!! Thank you ladies, I'm thrilled. :) I'll be passing these on tomorrow!! :)

CSF, Ismaki and Sunday Stampers

A triple whammy here! I've wanted to join in some extra challenges recently, but time does not seem to be on my side at the moment. However, I've managed to combine three challenges today, firstly, the CSF Fat Page challenge (that I set this week) from the Craft Swap Forum - which is to DIY, i.e. do some of your own handwriting, drawing or doodling. I've also based the page on the current sketch over at Ismaki and have stamped with a male theme for Sunday Stampers!

I've used the BG Mellow papers from my Scrummy Stash Cafe Mellow Kit (now reduced!!), the brads are MM Shimmer Brads and finally the stamp is designed and made by me. :)
