Retreat Delight!

Well, the Sarah's Cards retreat is now all done and dusted and what an ultra amazing weekend its been! I'm so thrilled and privliged to have been part of it, Sarah and Lianne have worked so hard in organising and putting everything together and what a roaring success it was. Everyone had the most fabulous time and didn't want for anything! I can't thank those two lovely ladies enough!

The classes by they DT were just fantastic and I was so pleased to be Cathy's assistant for her fabulous mini book. I've been dying to put a few pics up of my version and now I can :-

Not only that, I did a few make and take spots for the paper roses, which was just fabulous. I just love making these, they're a gorgeous little embellishment to add to projects and every now and again they pop up on one of my cards or layouts. Practice makes perfect with these too and, if you compare the ones on my last post with one of the first ones I did back in November, you'll see what I mean. Thanks to the lovely Tracy for teaching me to do these little wonders back in the Barn! :)

I can't believe I didn't get my camera out - too busy enjoying myself! You'll have to check out the DT's blogs and the Sarah's Cards blogs for some photies here and there.

Thanks for looking.

Here Comes the Sun

The never ending cold, snow and now rain looks like its heading with full force into Spring, so over at the Daring Cardmakers, we're generating some long awaited sunshine and warmth. Click on the link for the full details, but basically - its warm sunny colours that spell out SUNSHINE. Here is mine :-

I've used papers from Prima's Steel Toe Mary Janes collection. The sentiment is an old K&Co rub-on (I'm stunned it has survived in my house this long!) and the ribbon is American Crafts.

The Time of the Month

Now that the February kits from Sarah's Cards are sent out and have started arriving on doorsteps, I can share my latest DT layouts using the kit. It is full of the gorgeous Lily Bee Vintage Poppy papers, beautiful coordinating alphas and embellishments and they're all just so easy to work with.

As I bought myself a sewing machine a couple of months ago I had to get some stitching onto my layouts. I bought it with the intention of teaching myself to sew and I've had a good old practice, but only on paper so far! :) My "Squidgy Poo" layout below has been stitched all around the edges and I've gone to town with some zig-zag stitching on my "Feed Me" layout. Now......dare I buy some material and actually attempt to make something? Might as well now I've dumped my useless and good-for-nothing mini pretend machine and splashed out on a proper grown-up one!

Thanks for looking. :)
